Your Values

Once you have a better grasp of your own personal psychological make up you may want to consider what personal values are most important to you.

Although your personality will tend to mean certain values resonate more with you, your upbringing will also have an impact on what you hold important.

These values will often shape the way we react to situations and people so by gaining a better insight you will be able to get to know yourself better.

Work through the personal values list to understand what are your most important values and gain further clarity into why you behave as you do.

Life Assessment and Your Priorities

In your life there will be certain aspects or areas that you hold more precious than others. However, demands from others or even yourself may mean that the balance of time and attention to the different areas is not as you would like it.

What are your highest priorities? Do you put work before your family? Are your friends more important to you than success? By considering your priorities, the different areas of your life and how satisfied you are with each area in a life satisfaction assessment you will complete the picture of you and your life as it is today.

This will give you a clear feel for how your life is so you can start to consider what you would like to change. This will also give you the opportunity to re-evaluate your real priorities in life and if your work life balance is wrong it will clearly show up through completing this exercise.


Is Now The Time for Change?

The final piece of the self awareness work is to consider if you are ready for change. Sometimes you may believe that changing your life will solve your problems or make you happy but sometimes this change may be more damaging if you are not prepared for it or if you are currently vunerable.

Understanding both what is in your power to change and the effects of that change on yourself is important. If you are uncertain as to whether change is a good thing for you right now then find out by taking the change readiness assessment.
